About the project

Year
2022

The flow for applying for a consumer loan is one of SEB's most visited flows. In order to give customers a good experience that was clear, helpful and informative, my work focused on all parts of the design process. From Discovery to Design. Collaborating with other designers, stakeholders and teams was the foundation of this project. The result was a more intuitive and user-friendly experience that better supported customers in managing their loan.

CHALLENGES

  • Explaining and translating business needs into a customer facing UI

  • Staying creative with a lot of constrains and frameworks

  • Be a helping hand for the customer all the way

Key takeaways

As i reflected back on the process, a big part of how we eliminated questions and concerns from the team was to always be visual and including the team in the design process. That was one of many quick wins when it comes to our way of working and team collaboration. Show and tell how our Figma files look like, the thinking and ideas behind makes everyone in the team more aligned around UX/UI and copy. That also builds trust between other stakeholdes and we can speed up the process and move faster as a team.

LEARNINGS

  • Show design/ideas mockups early and trough out the project

  • Expected to design mobile first, but user testing showed the opposite
  • Close collaboration with stakeholders and developers creates a more agile and resilient design process
